Comentario sobre I Reyes 18:28

וַֽיִּקְרְאוּ֙ בְּק֣וֹל גָּד֔וֹל וַיִּתְגֹּֽדְדוּ֙ כְּמִשְׁפָּטָ֔ם בַּחֲרָב֖וֹת וּבָֽרְמָחִ֑ים עַד־שְׁפָךְ־דָּ֖ם עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃

Y ellos clamaban a grandes voces, y sajábanse con cuchillos y con lancetas conforme a su costumbre, hasta chorrear la sangre sobre ellos.

And they gashed themselves. An expression of tearing the flesh with an instrument, for such was their custom.
